The arrival of a newborn is always a momentous occasion for any family. Sweet baby Myah made her star debut to her family, and her parents Josh and Penny couldn’t be more thrilled. Their Harmony Grove in-home newborn and family session was made even more special by the presence of big brother, Elliot James, who was clearly smitten with his new baby sister. Josh and Penny are amazing parents, handling everything from dirty diapers to playtime with ease. Despite having their hands full with two children under two, they remained patient, kind, and loving towards one another and their little ones. You could sense their deep love as a family in all those genuine tender moments they shared throughout the session.

I adored Myah’s swaddles that featured matching headpieces in hues of blush and dusty pink, and a beautiful yellow-orange color. She slept peacefully in her parents arms, swaddled in soft, cozy blankets, throughout the majority of the session. I alternated between documenting moments of the family together and focusing just on Myah and her adorable features. I always make sure to capture everything from a newborn’s little fingers down to their teeny, tiny toes, as it all changes so quickly. Each time I photograph a precious newborn, it takes me back to that special phase of motherhood.

As a mom who has a teenager and pre-teen at home, I treasure spending time with young, growing families, and getting my “baby fix”. There’s just something about newborn babies that warms the heart and reminds us of the beauty of life. Oh, and let’s not forget the joy of newborn snuggles! I love watching families bond together during those early moments together. Whether it is your first or fourth child, the birth of a baby is always a moment to be cherished and celebrated. Time moves far too quickly, and when your children start to grow up, you realize it more than ever. Time is fleeting and capturing precious family moments as your children grow is priceless.

It was an absolute joy to capture this beautiful new family of four and provide them with memories of this sweet season of life. Baby Myah stole the show with her sweet little features, while Elliot James basked in the role of big brother, and Josh and Penny beamed with pride and love for their growing family.
